AT&T and U.S. Cellular today unveiled their pricing for the Samsung Galaxy Tab. AT&T offers the Cartier version of the Tab and is either overly confident that the device will sell well or intentionally communicates to its customers to buy the iPad and forget the Tab.

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab is perceived to be the first credible rival to the iPad. However, it isn’t exactly built like a tablet, but closely resembles a larger version of the Galaxy S smartphone.

Is it just me or is the discussion about the price of the Galaxy tablet and its apparently higher price in comparison to the iPad (in fact, it is $30 cheaper) artificial? Preview – Samsung’s Galaxy Tab is scheduled to be released next week, but it now appears that the tablet will be much more expensive than anticipated and Samsung has put itself at a disadvantage against the iPad that will be difficult to overcome.

Don’t expect to get Samsung’s Galaxy tablet at a bargain basement price. In fact, you may want to expect a price that is above Apple’s iPad.
