Intel today launched a series of new low power processors based on its 32 nm design, that provides greater power efficiency and more performance. However, the chips aren’t good enough to be used in tablets, the company said and dropped a note that it will show tablet CPUs at the upcoming Computex.

Sometimes you may wonder what all those cores in your PC are good for. You will need to run very specific applications to see a performance increase and those you use most often don’t care, if you are running 1, 2, 4 or CPU 8 cores. In a significant announcement published today, researchers from North Carolina State University (NCSU) said they have found a way to exploit multi-core processing horsepower for just those applications. Speed gains of up to 20% were observed.
