Now it has never had all the bells and whistles, but each new version has added some. But I am not interested in Eye Candy of washing the dishes with a browser or any other software. If these things are important to you, then stay with the dinosaurs. I think Google has understood that speed and accuracy is important. I'm looking forward to Chrome OS.
