If Higgs Boson is finally detected then there is also a possibility that the existence of Creator will also be able to explain or another Creator will exist considering the new cycle of the universe is going to happen another big bang and so on.

Unfortunately I believe there are more people in the world embracing science and the gaining of knowledge in fear than there are people " inclined to be excited and educated"

Articles like this in my opinion are excellent, because they catch the eye of both the optimistic and pessimistic by utilizing a intro sentence that is appealing to both readers and then go into clear some what simple explanation as to exactly what the experiment was created to do.

The article did a great job at explaining the LHC, without feeding the fears of the people by falsely trying to explain why the Higgs Boson is called the GOD particle, or implying the world is going to end because they are going to make another big bang!!!!

Great article and perfect for someone interested in the basic workings of the LHC. :)

Taken into account. I would say, however, that a project like the LHC fuels fears by default. Simply wiping those fears, no matter how exaggerated they are, would be a mistake in the public eye. Personally, I'd rather have this discussion go to extremes as it enables you to form your own picture.

This is a very good article. Still, I have to come down on the side of those who see the "insanity" quote as a distraction. If you are intent on accelerating learning, leave the sensationalist baggage at the curb.

Those who are not inclined to be excited and educated aren't going to be swayed by one false line of pessimism buried in three pages of optimism.

Dismissed. I suspect what you are driving at may be explanations of physical processes which do not, at the time, fit within an accepted model. For instance, Galileo's observation of moons of Jupiter obeying a Kepler-like set of laws certainly did not fit the accepted model of the time. It seems to me that the lunatic fringe often kowtowed to today, in the name of media giving both sides a say, is not even remotely the same thing.

As a retired physics and engineering instructor I always tire quickly of reading again statements like, "Some believe it is the greatest….Some believe it is pure insanity." Of course some believe it to be pure insanity. Most of the folks who do have a pre-science world-view of about 1400AD. They'd believe cell phone technology to be pure insanity if it weren't "explained" to them by having the damn thing in their hand to chat/text on while driving. Come to think of it, they'd "believe" the science of thermodynamics to be insane also if it were decoupled from the car they are paying no attention to while driving. Why throw them a bone in articles like this???

Thanks for your kind words. I actually toured the Tevatron a few years ago and found it fascinating and the people behind it very cautious and reasonable. The possibilities are surely exciting.
