Google Instant inspired the creation YouTube and today we are seeing Facebook Instant Search, which may be the most impressive instant search tool yet.
Nour Syron, a 20-year old student from Syria has come up with an instant search feature for Facebook that we easily could imagine being part of Facebook today. FB Instant search lists search results for posts, people and updates without delay and while you are typing. If you log in with your Facebook account, you can search your friends’ information right away.
Syron wrote on his blog that his idea for Facebook Instant came from a VentureBeat article that described YouTube Instant, an instant search tool for YouTube. He said that his service is based on the “Facebook Application platform where users can login and allow it to see some of their information. Using JavaScript and Ajax calls makes it so easy for my website to make some calls to the Facebook servers and bring information to display it in a nice and organized way, where you can click on it and go directly to that page on the original website,” Syron wrote.
And he isn’t done yet. Syron said that he is developing more features, including the inclusion of profile results, the addition of comments, as well as the ability to save a search option. Perhaps Facebook should be hiring Syron.
