Don’t expect to get Samsung’s Galaxy tablet at a bargain basement price. In fact, you may want to expect a price that is above Apple’s iPad.

European retailers have begun offering the Tab in their online stores and it appears that the 16 GB 3G version of the Android tablet will cost more than $1000. German retailer Cyberport priced the device at 799 Euros, the equivalent of about $1030.

UK’s LambdaTek is offering the tablet for 612.45 British Pounds, or about $946. Samsung has not announced official pricing yet, but said that Korea and Europe will be first to get the P1000 tablet.

The Galaxy is a 7” tablet running Android 2.2 at a resolution of 1024×600 pixels. In comparison, Apple’s 9.7” (1024×768 pixels) iPad with 16 GB and 3G is priced at $629. The 64 GB model runs for $829.
