Microsoft will be introducing an updated Xbox 360 controller on November 9. The new wireless unit features a new color scheme as well as a flexible D-pad.
Following the $150 Kinect that will be released on November 4, the company will be offering its hardcore gamer base a new wireless controller for $65 on November 9. The new matte silver device has grey ABXY buttons as well as a concave analog stick.
The D-pad, which apparently has been criticized by gamers comes now with a twist, literally. Turn the pad and it transforms from a “+” shape into a disc. Microsoft says the disc will have advantages in some games and enables smoother navigation.
It isn’t cheap and is available as part of the Play & Charge Kit, but if you don’t like the Kinect that may be a way to spend your money on. The new controller will only be available in the U.S. initially and launch in Europe in February, according to Microsoft’s Larry Hryb.
