HTC’s Vision smartphone will be released as at the end of September. T-Mobile refers to the device as “Vanguard”, but will market it as the G2.
TmoNews got a hold of an internal training document that appears to confirm the launch for September 29. T-Mobile says the G2 will reshape the smartphone landscape like the G1 did, but has not offered many details so far. According to TmoNews, the Vision, Vanguard or G2 will have a Nexus One-like 3.7” screen with a resolution of 800×480 pixel. The pixel density is 240 ppi, which compares to 326 ppi of the iPhone 4.
The G2 will be capable of 720p video recording at 30 fps, integrate a 2D/3D GPU, all the other usual hardware, including a Qualcomm Scorpion processor with 800 MHz or 1 GHz. The phone will ship with Android 2.2 right out of the box, according to TmoNews.
