What the 3 companies should do:

Microsoft:
Stop stying to "group" together all its customers as the same kind of gamers. Include MORE things that will attract gamers from all crowds - That will get Nintendo's & Sony's attention.

Nintendo:
Make more games! I know they don't need much because of the amount of customers, but with that money they could invest in making more "fun" games and maybe getting even MORE of the traditional gamers.

Sony:
Make or include more "evolutionary" things (example: when PS3 came out w/ Blu Ray). That way PS3 will have X amount of advantages more over Xbox 360.

LMAO Did you even watch E3 this year? Kinect did not make the biggest impact! Did you not hear all of the negative criticism? Nintendo had the biggest impact, followed up by Sony, and lastly Xbox. They showed off their only good three games Halo, Fable, and Gears of War 3.

I think MS went into development of Kinnect with the assumption that it had no appeal to core gamers. I beleive they felt Gears and HALO and Ghost Recon would take care of the core group. They probably felt the core gamers would be happy and maybe, if they were lucky, they could sell a few Kinects to the core group along with the whole of the casual crowd. What they got was a firestorm they probably didn't count on. Core gamers are blustering big time and the gaming media is giving lots of air time to those who want to cuss MS out. Sony added to MS's problems by releasing SOCOM4, which works with their motion sensing system. This only fuels MS core gamers more. We feel left out and MS is measuring the way the wind is blowing and trying to reassure us the we haven't been forgotten. I will bet that after E3, some body from MS in charge of game development has been running up and down the hallways screaming for somebody, anybody to get on the ball and get a game core gamers will love and is Kinnect compatible out, "like yesterday"

Interesting. However, the "motion control" gimmick is old news, and comes back every few years with new bells and whistles. The MS Visioncam, and the PS Eyetoy obviously come to mind. While its innovative to an extent, with some new features tacked on, as Steven Tyler would say, "It's the same old song and dance". Certainly they will sell decently, and attract some more "casual" gamers to the flock, which is good. But in the end, it is a gimmick, and will not "revolutionize" the industry by any means. Us "hardcore" gamers want innovation FOR US. How about a soft plush controller with rubber grips? How about a gun peripheral for 360 and PS3 (and why isn't there one yet?) How about a controller with a cup-coozy built in! Okay, Im talking crazy talk now, but you see my point. We are the gaming market, not the "occasional" gamer. Gear these "gimmicks" towards us and you'll make a killing. Alienate us, and watch the FAIL.
